A research project funded by EU, aims for using e-Government to slash administrative red tape encountered during the export process.


The overall goal of the EU’s ITAIDE (Information Technology for Administration and Intelligent Design of E-Government) project is to significantly reduce red tape while increasing the control and security of cross-border trade. It looks into the technological and organisational problems associated in addressing the issue.

Reducing the administrative complexity, the protocols and modes of information exchange will be standardised, often requiring for redesign, alignment & integration of key organisational practices and technological architectures. Researchers will examine the way European businesses interact with international customs and tax authorities through a single-window-access IT system designed to make the interaction easier.
