Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated various government projects at Silvassa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli (D&NH) to the nation. These include government buildings, solar Photo Voltaic systems, Jan Aushadhi Kendras and a Passport Seva Kendra.
Till now, D&NH residents had to go out of the Union territory if they wanted to apply for a passport.This new Passport Seva Kendra will benefit 21,000 people of D&NH.
Prime Minister also distributed aids and assistive Devices to Divyangjans, and other benefits under existing government schemes.
“When we assumed office, I sought details on impact of development schemes in Dadra & Nagar Haveli & we worked on areas needing attention,” said the Prime Minister in an official statement.
During his address, Narendra Modi informed that the number of beneficiaries under the Ujjwala scheme for LPG has crossed 2 crore.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Union Government will never allow the poor and the middle class to be looted. He urged the assembled people to download the BHIM App for cashless transactions.
This is the first visit for the Prime Minister in Silvassa.
