Four districts in Tamil Nadu and three districts in Bihar in India have been chosen for a pilot project by the Information Technology ministry to introduce e-Governance at the district level administration.

From e-Sampark in Chandigarh and LokMitra in Himachal Pradesh to e-Seva in Andhra Pradesh and BangaloreOne in Bangalore, citizens are transacting government services in comfort without standing in a queue in the hot sun or pouring rain and being serviced by smiling courteous staff.
All police stations in the State of Tamil Nadu in India will be equipped with computers by next month. They will also be provided with fax machines and “simple gym equipment” to keep the police “fighting fit at all times.”
