This year, the National e-Governance is going to expand with the introduction of two new categories. In addition to six categories, the Government of India decided to award exemplary work in a ‘focus sector’ which would be selected every year.
The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances in the Union Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Ministry has chosen Jawaharlal Nehru University to conduct a research on implementation of the best practices in governance in India.

Since the past 50 years and more the Government of India has been constantly endeavouring to bring efficiency, particularly in public service delivery through more accountability, transparency and responsiveness.
