Narol Textile Infrastructure & Enviro Management (NTIEM) is a representative body formed as a Section 8 company for 138 textile member industries in and around the Piplaj/ Narol/Pirana areas of Ahmedabad. NTIEM has also successfully conceptualised and commissioned one of the largest Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in Asia, with a capacity of 100 MLD, to treat partially treated effluent from our member industries. These member industries process about 2800 million meters of cloth per year generating revenue to the tune of about Rs 10,000 crore per annum and employing about 1.5 lakh employees. CETP of NTIEM has been achieving the discharge norms for wastewater specified by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) at the outlet of CETP since January 2020 and has obtained Consent permissions valid till 30.09.2027.
The NTIEM-CETP performance is acclaimed by the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Nagpur as well as the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. It is also appreciated by the Joint Task Force, Amicus curiae, appointed by the Hon’ble Gujarat High Court, as well as GIZ, Japan International Cooperation Agency, NGOs, and Goa Pollution Control Board during the visit of their technical team members.
NTIEM has obtained a certificate of ISO 14001: 2015 for its CETP valid up to 30.01.2026 and under the process of obtaining the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories accreditation for the CETP Laboratory.

NTIEM received an award from Paryavaran Today Award 2023 under the category of “Extensive efforts for Greener Planet Earth”, and from Radio City 91.1 FM Awards for “Excellence in Textile Environmental Management”.

In accordance with the policy of the Government of Gujarat, Reuse and Recycle of Water 2018, and following the principle of Circular economy, NTIEM has signed an MoU with AMC on 01.02.2024 for the reuse of treated domestic sewage of @ 120 MLD from AMC-STP to be used as raw water for industrial processes by NTIEM member units. This project aims to avoid the discharge of 120 MLD treated sewage into the river Sabarmati, stop 120 MLD of borewell water usage, leading to savings in energy consumption, and creating a favourable situation for the Government, enforcing agencies, industries, and above all, the Environment.
Under the guidance of the Government of Gujarat and its regulatory agencies, NTIEM aspires to develop an integrated city that is conceptualised, planned, executed, owned, and operated by textile industrialists who have vast textile production experience and are the ones who have faced (over past 40+ years) and understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats associated with textile production in and around Ahmedabad City.
NTIEM has retained a renowned institution for evaluation of the DPR for the Bio-CNG project which will utilize the sludge from CETP to produce Bio-CNG. This project on implementation will reduce the substantial amount of sludge going to TSDF sites, and the methane produced will be used as fuel.
