Vini Mahajan given additional charge of Secy Environment, Rajesh Kumar Singh assigned additional charge of Secy Textiles

In a recent development, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued a circular on April 12th, assigning additional responsibilities to two senior IAS officers. Vini Mahajan, a Punjab cadre officer from the 1987 batch currently serving as a secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, has been directed to take up the role of secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC). This assignment comes in the absence of IAS Leena Nandan, who is also from the 1987 batch.


Similarly, Rajesh Kumar Singh, an IAS officer from the Kerala cadre of the 1989 batch, serving as a secretary in the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has been entrusted with the additional charge of secretary in the Ministry of Textiles. Officer Singh will fill this position during the absence of IAS Rachna Shah, a 1991 batch officer.

Both officers are set to deliver the charge until April 21st, as per the directives outlined in the circular.
