West Bengal: Dibyendu Das made Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Amit Roy Chaudhury appointed Special Secretary Food and Supplies

In a series of recent administrative moves, the West Bengal government has made significant shifts in key positions within its bureaucracy.


Dibyendu Das, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch, has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Electoral Officer, replacing Mr. Amit Roy Choudhury, who also belongs to the 2011 batch of IAS officers.

In another development, Amit Roy Chaudhury, the outgoing Additional Chief Electoral Officer, has been directed to take up the role of Senior Special Secretary in the Department of Food and Supplies.

Moreover, Mohammad Ikhlaque Islam, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch, has been designated as the new Director of the Department of Transport, succeeding Mr. Dibyendu Das. Mr. Islam was previously serving as the Senior Special Secretary in the Department of Food and Supplies.
