Minor Bureaucratic Shuffle in West Bengal, Roshni Sen made CMD West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation

Sanjay Bansal has been entrusted with some significant responsibilities within the state administration. Mr Bansal now assumes the leadership of the state’s Urban Development and Municipal Affairs (UD & MA) department. He has also been assigned the charge of managing director of WBHIDCO (West Bengal Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation). He will continue to act as the Secretary of the Backward Classes Welfare Department.


Khalil Ahmed, the former Principal Secretary of the UD & MA department, transitions to Principal Secretary of the Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs department, relieving Bansal of his previous duties in that capacity.

Further changes include Roshni Sen‘s appointment as the Chairman and Managing Director of WBIDC (West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation) and her current role as Additional Chief Secretary of the Environment and Fisheries department.

Neelam Meena assumes the mantle of Principal Secretary of the Consumer Affairs department, succeeding Sen, who is relieved of her duties as Additional Chief Secretary of the Consumer Affairs department.


Abhinav Chandra has been named the Director of the Institute of Environmental Studies & Wetland Management (IES&WM), succeeding Neelam Meena, who previously held the position.

Debashis Sen, who previously held the post of Managing Director of HIDCO, steps into a new role as part of this administrative overhaul.
