NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has inked significant Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) and Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited (GPPL) during the three-day Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar.
The strategic collaboration with GSPC is aimed at integrating green hydrogen into GSPC’s gas networks, with a particular focus on enabling its utilization in transportation through the establishment of green hydrogen fueling stations across Gujarat. Concurrently, the MoU with GPPL is geared towards establishing a robust green hydrogen ecosystem. This includes the production of green ammonia on the land allocated by GPPL for both domestic and international markets. Furthermore, the agreement explores the potential for utilizing Pipavav Port as a central hub for NGEL to assess, develop, and operate offshore wind farms in the state of Gujarat.
In a related development, NTPC Limited, representing NTPC-SAIL Power Company, recently issued a tender in January 2024 for the setup of a 15 MW floating solar project at Maroda reservoir-1 of NSPCL in Bhilai, Chattisgarh.
Earlier in the same month, the results of NTPC Limited’s auction for the development of 1,500 MW of inter-state transmission system-connected solar power projects, tranche I, were unveiled. Apraava Energy, Avaada Energy, and ReNew secured 300 MW, 500 MW, and 400 MW, respectively, by quoting Rs 2.65 per kWh. Additionally, Anboto Solar (Solarpack) secured 300 MW with a winning bid of Rs 2.6 per kWh. The projects, located nationwide, are poised to play a pivotal role in India’s solar energy landscape.
