Telangana Government reshuffles 11 senior IAS officers in a major administrative overhaul

In a significant administrative reshuffle, the State government of Telangana executed the transfer of 11 IAS officers, reassigning them to new roles. The reshuffle included the relocation of esteemed officials such as Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar, and Principal Secretaries B Venkatesham and A Vani Prasad.


Arvind Kumar, a senior IAS officer of the 1991 batch previously served as the Special Chief Secretary to Government for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Metropolitan Commissioner, and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, has now been appointed as the Special Chief Secretary for Revenue (Disaster Management). This move involves relieving Rahul Boijja of the additional charge of the Disaster Management Department.

B Venkatesham, formerly the Principal Secretary and Commissioner (BC Welfare), has been reassigned as the Principal Secretary for Education, relieving Vakati Karuna of the FAC of the Department. A Vani Prasad, the former Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, is now appointed as the Principal Secretary for Environment, Forests, Science, and Technology. Additionally, she takes on the full additional charge of EPTRI as its Director General, relieving Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari from FAC of the department.

M Dana Kishore, the Managing Director of HMWSSB, has been moved to the position of Principal Secretary for the Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, replacing Arvind Kumar. He also assumes the FAC of the posts of Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA, and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration.


K S Sreenivas Raju, the Secretary to Government for the Roads & Buildings Department, has been appointed as the Secretary for Transport, Roads, and Buildings Department, relieving Vani Prasad from the Transport Department.

Rahul Bojja, previously the Secretary to the Chief Minister, is now designated as the Secretary for GAD, relieving V Sheshadri of the additional charge of the department. He will continue to hold the FAC of the posts of Secretary to Government, SC Development, and Commissioner, SC Development.


Dr Christina Z Chongthu, the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, is transferred to the position of Secretary for the Health and Medical and Family Welfare Department. Dr T K Sreedevi, the Secretary for Finance, is reassigned as the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.

Following her transfer, Vakati Karuna is appointed as the Secretary to Government and Commissioner for the Woman, Child, Disabled, and Senior Citizens Department, relieving Shruti Ojha of the FAC of the post.

RV Karnan, the Collector and District Magistrate of Nalgonda, has been reassigned as the Director of Health and Family Welfare.
