The Uttar Pradesh government has recently announced a significant reshuffle within its administrative ranks, appointing three seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers to pivotal roles, each bringing a wealth of experience and a proven track record.

  1. Alok Kumar: Stepping into the role of Principal Secretary for Sports, Alok Kumar, a member of the 1998 IAS batch, has had a distinguished career. Before this appointment, he was serving as the Special Secretary of Madhyamik Shiksha, where he played a crucial role in reforming secondary education in the state. His earlier stints include various key positions in the Uttar Pradesh government, where he was instrumental in implementing several developmental projects and policies. His ability to handle complex administrative challenges has been well-recognized throughout his career.
  2. Laxmi V.S.: Appointed as the Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of Noida, Laxmi V.S. has been a dynamic force in the IAS cadre. Prior to her new role, she served as the Chief Development Officer in Mirzapur, where she was lauded for her innovative approaches to rural development and infrastructure projects. Her tenure in Mirzapur was marked by significant improvements in local governance and public welfare schemes. Laxmi’s previous assignments have spanned across various departments, showcasing her versatility and commitment to public service.
  3. Vishal Kumar: The young and energetic Vishal Kumar, from the 2020 IAS batch, has been appointed as the new Chief Development Officer for Mirzapur. Although relatively new to the service, Vishal has already made a mark with his proactive and people-centric approach in his previous postings. His fresh perspectives and keen understanding of contemporary administrative challenges are expected to bring about transformative changes in Mirzapur. He has previously worked on several key projects focused on urban development and social welfare, demonstrating his potential as an effective administrator.
