In a significant administrative overhaul, the government led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh has executed a major reshuffle, involving the transfer and posting of six Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and fifteen Indian Police Service (IPS) officers.
Here are the key changes:
Vijay Kiran Anand, a 2009 batch IAS officer who previously served as the Director General of School Education, has been assigned the crucial responsibility of overseeing the Kumbh Mela.
Kanchan Verma, an Inspector General of Registration and another 2009 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Director General of School Education.
Dr. Rupesh Kumar, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch and the Secretary of Secondary Education, will now assume the role of Inspector-in-charge of Registration, replacing Ms. Kanchan Verma.
Sukhlal Bharti, a 2008 batch IAS officer who held the position of Special Secretary in the Agriculture Production Commissioner Branch, has been reassigned as the Special Secretary of Secondary Education.
Anil Kumar, the Additional Food Commissioner and Secretary of the Vigilance Commission, has been posted as the In-charge Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
Dr. Bipin Kumar Mishra, a 2017 batch IAS officer previously serving as the Additional Housing Commissioner in the Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Council, has been entrusted with the role of Additional Food Commissioner and Secretary of the Vigilance Commission.
In addition to these changes within the IAS cadre, 15 IPS officers have also witnessed transfers and new postings within the state. The reshuffle is expected to bring a fresh perspective to key administrative roles and enhance efficiency in Uttar Pradesh’s governance.
