The Yogi Adityanath administration in Uttar Pradesh has conducted yet another reorganisation of the bureaucracy ahead of the forthcoming municipal elections. There have been six transfers of special secretary-level Indian Administrative Service officers.

This is the third time in the past three days that IAS or IPS officers have been transferred within the state.

Mr. Shiv Sahay Awasthi, an IAS officer from the 2011 batch, has been promoted to Special Secretary, Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Branch Lucknow from Special Secretary, Sugarcane and Sugar Industry. Atal Rai, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch, was promoted to Special Secretary, Food and Logistics from Additional Commissioner Industries in Kanpur.

Mr Shiv Sahay Awasthi, a 2011 batch IAS officer who was posted as Special Secretary Sugarcane and Sugar Industry, has been made Special Secretary, Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Branch Lucknow. While 2010 batch IAS officer, Atal Rai, who was posted as Additional Commissioner Industries in Kanpur, has been made Special Secretary, Food and Logistics.


Amarnath Upadhyay, an IAS officer who was awaiting assignment, has been given the position of Special Secretary, Culture.

Five IAS officers were transferred earlier this month. Durga Shakti Nagpal, an IAS officer, has been named the District Magistrate of Banda, and IAS Krishna Kumar has been named a member of the Judicial Revenue Council. IAS Samyukta Samaddar was named as Commissioner of the National Capital Region (NCR), IAS Divya Prakash Giri was posted as Staff Officer to the Chief Secretary, and IAS Anand Kumar was made Member (Judicial) of the Council of Revenue.
