Gujarat Govt names Shahmeena Hussain as new Health Commissioner

Shahmeena Husain (IAS 1997-Batch) has been promoted to Principal Secretary level and posted as Health Commissioner of Gujarat. The Government of Gujarat, on February 24, moved a minor reshuffle in the administrative lineup of the state shifting six senior IAS officers to new posts.


As per the state government orders, Husain has been named Commissioner of Health, Medical Services, Medical Education and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to the Government of Gujarat (Public Health & Family Welfare), Health & Family Welfare Department. She will take over the charge from the incumbent Health Commissioner Jai Prakash Shivahare (IAS 2002-Batch). Previously, she was serving as Managing Director (MD) of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL).
