The Government of India recently issued an order to appoint Alkesh Kumar Sharma as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet nodded to the Centre’s request, on February 8, to appoint Sharma as the Secretary.

Ahead of the new appointment, the 1990-Batch IAS officer was serving as Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.
