The advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amarjeet Sinha has resigned from his post. Sinha’s resignation came seven months ahead of the completion of his two-year tenure in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Sinha, a retired IAS officer of 1983-Batch, was appointed as the Advisor to the PM in February 2020 on a contractual basis for two years initially. Another retired IAS officer of 1983-Batch, Bhaskar Khulbe was also appointed alongside Sinha in the PMO. Sinha was assigned tasks related to the social sector.
However, no specific reason for Sinha’s abrupt retirement has surfaced yet. Since the 2019 polls, Sinha becomes the third top official from the PMO to quit before the completion of the tenure.
