Assam Govt reshuffles posts of 3 IAS officers

The Government of Assam on May 15 nodded to a minor administrative reshuffle causing the transfer and posting of three IAS officers.


  1. Anurag Goel (IAS 1996-Batch) serving as Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department with the additional charge of Commissioner of Taxes has been relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner of Taxes.
  2. Rakesh Kumar (IAS 2005-Batch) has been relieved of his additional charge of Commissioner of Excise. Prior to new orders, Kumar is serving as Commissioner and Secretary, Fishery & Irrigation Departments and Commissioner of Excise in the additional capacity. He was substantively posted as Managing Director, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited.
  3. Rakesh Agarwala (IAS-Non-SCS 2009-Batch) has been transferred and appointed as Commissioner of Taxes. Also, he has been assigned the additional charge of Commissioner of Excise.
