Gujarat’s Administrative Reshuffle: 5 IAS Officers Promoted to Additional Chief Secretary

With the release of a recent order dated August 10, 2020, the Government of Gujarat promoted five IAS officers and reshuffled their roles and responsibilities.


Kamal Dayani (1990-Batch IAS) has been promoted to the grade of Additional Chief Secretay to the Government and has been appointed to officiate in General Administration Department, Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government (Personnel). Dayani is currently serving as the Principal Secretary to the Government (Personnel).

Manoj Kumar Das (1990-Batch IAS) Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister has been promoted and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Manoj Aggarwal (1990-Batch IAS) Principal Secretary to the Government, Social Justice & Empowerment Department has been promoted and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government, Social Justice & Empowerment.

Chandra Vanu Som (1990-Batch IAS) Principal Secretary to the Government, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department has been promoted and appointed as Additional Chief Secretary, Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department, Government of Gujarat.


Arunkumar M Solanki (1990-Batch IAS) Managing Director, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd., Ahmedabad has been promoted as Additional Chief Secretary to the Government. However, he will continue to function as Managing Director, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.
