
In the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has taken another commendable step by inaugurating the integrated disaster management COVID19 control room in Lucknow on April 6. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of UP, while inaugurating the facility said, the control room is the backbone for rein in disasters. Further, he directed all the district magistrates to appoint a nodal officer for the control room and make the facility operational in their districts 24 X 7.
Moreover, he said that the control rooms should reach out to the public to make them aware of all information regarding the COVID-19 isolation and quarantine health centres including the level-1, level-2 and level-3 healthcare facilities. Also, the rooms will be helping in better management of supplying relief material to the poor and needy including food packets and other essentials.

The CM also inaugurated a Geo-Spatial technology-based mobile application and Geo-portal for the community kitchens and shelter homes. As of yet, 1,166 community kitchens and 2,266 shelter homes in various districts are being geo-tagged and being uploaded on the app.

According to CM’s speech in the inaugural ceremony, the integrated control room will be linked with all district control rooms and this will help in increasing efficiency in fighting the coronavirus. He further added, the integrated control room will soon be linked to other important telephonic services such as 112, 1076, 1090, 108 and 102. The government has also launched a toll-free helpline number dedicatedly for the integrated control room – 1070.
