MCD to Bring 71 Services Online by July 2011

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will post its parking details online under the e-governance scheme, so people can view parking lots at the places they are visiting.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will post its parking details online under the e-governance scheme, so people can view parking lots at the places they are visiting. Under the scheme, the MCD plans to bring 71 services of its 40 departments online by July.

According to a senior official, maps of parking lots will be placed on the website to mark their exact locations. Once the e-governance plan is implemented, getting trade licences, birth and death certificates or securing sanctions for building plans can be done online. For implementing the e-governance project, costing Rs 180 crore, the MCD signed a pact with Tech Mahindra in March last year.

“Through a joint effort, we have integrated all existing software applications and hardware in the MCD for seamless information flow, and providing services online,” said an official.
