Report on net neutrality submitted by the telecom department panel to Telecom Ravi Shankar Prasad will be made public in a few days.
“The report on net neutality has been submitted to me. In few days time, it will be avilable onwebsite for public access. I have asked the Secretary to send a copy to TRAI, so that they can also have a look at it,” Prasad said.
“The decision the issue will be taken by the government and the Cabinet,” he added.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) is also in the consultation process of defining net neutrality. Trai had received more than 1 million petitions from the supporters of net neutrality to ‘keep internet free’.
The final Trai report along with the internal committee’s report will help the governement to form policy on net neutrality.
