C R Vishwanath, a 1981 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs. At present, he is working as CMD, Food Corporation of India. He will be replacing K N Desiraju, who is an IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, 1978 batch, and is retired.
