Anil Kumar Agrawal, a 1981 batch IAS officer of West Bengal cadre and incumbent Director General, ESIC, has been appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.

Agrawal replaces Sunil Soni, who is also a 1981 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre. Soni has been laterally shifted to the Inter State Council Secretariat.
