Pravin Darade, a 1998 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He was appointed as Director General, Maharashtra Energy Development Authority (MEDA), Pune, only two months ago.
Before taking charge at MEDA, he was Chairman of the Nagpur Improvement Trust. Darade was known as the ” Metro Man” as he bulldozed through several hurdles to complete the paperwork for the project. As district collector Kolhapur and Nagpur, he set up student hostels for those enrolled at the State Institute for Administrative Careers.
