Goa (India) gets laurels for its e-Governance programmes

In India, Goa has been considered as the best state of the country for its e-Governance initiatives at the summit organised in New Delhi by the Cyber Media India Ltd along with the Union Ministry of information technology.

Goa is selected on the basis of its e-Governance roadmap, creation of basic infrastructure, establishment of state data centres, creation of integration service centres, development of single official portal and creation of IT centres in every viallge.  IDC India Ltd and Cyber Media India Ltd has selected Goa as best e-Governance state. The other factors for selecting Goa as best state for e-Governance due to the computerisation of various government departments by the Information Technology Corporation of Goa. Goa Government is focusing on e-Governance initiatives to provide connectivity and services to reach citizens of the state. The other states in the region are Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
