All villagers of Nagpur city are part of video conferencing between village and the district police headquarters.
In India, about 8000 residents of Nagpur city have used computers, e-mailed scanned documents and part of regular video conferencing between village and the district police headquarters. Villagers can make complaint directly with chief police and also receive hard copies of their compliant. Kiosks have been installed in the 22 villages of the districts. The state government has formed a committee to look into whether it can be replicated all across rural Maharashtra. According to the police chief, S Yadav, the department is also planning to launch a publicity drive to draw the villagers' attention to the facilities. According to estimates, over 10,000 villages in India have already joined the IT revolution under different schemes.
