3Com Corporation announced that it has signed a multi-million-dollar contract to provide the Government of Israel with networking solutions for its new LAN infrastructure project. This multi-year agreement is a part of the Government's plans to build its growing online initiatives.

Other competitors competing for the same contract were HP ProCurve, Nortel Networks and Alcatel-Lucent, from amongst whom 3Com was chosen as the best value provider for an end-to-end solution. In addition to the price-performance advantage demonstrated by 3Com, the company's state-of-the-art networking solutions will also significantly reduce energy costs for the Government of Israel.
