Global Development Learning Network (GDLN), a worldwide partnership of independent learning centres established by the World Bank, is to use Elluminate Live! Academic Edition for training and collaboration among the GDLN Affiliates in selected countries around the world on an experimental basis.

Elluminate Live! will be used  to train over 100 affiliates located in 80 countries worldwide on its new Activity Management System, an application used to schedule and coordinate knowledge sharing and learning activities across the network. Most of the affiliates are located in developing countries, where high-speed Internet connectivity is not always available. It is yet to be make feasible about the extent to which Elluminate provides a reliable low-bandwidth, platform and collaborative solutions that enables the Affiliates and clients to be in rapport. Elluminate Live! is designed to ensure that no user is left behind, even those in remote, rural areas or third-world countries where Internet connectivity is less than optimal.
