V Vidyavathi Gets Additional Charge of Minority Affairs Ministry

Senior IAS officer V Vidyavathi (IAS: 1991: Karnataka cadre) has been given additional charge as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs for a temporary period.


The additional responsibility will be effective from October 5 to October 18, 2026, during the leave period of Srivatsa Krishna (IAS: 1994: Karnataka cadre).

V Vidyavathi to Handle Additional Responsibility

Vidyavathi is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan). Along with her existing responsibilities, she will oversee the work of the Ministry of Minority Affairs during the specified period.


The arrangement is intended to ensure continuity in the functioning of the ministry while the incumbent Secretary is on leave.

Additional Charge Till October 18

According to the order, Vidyavathi will hold the additional charge from October 5, 2026, to October 18, 2026. Her existing assignment in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities will continue alongside the additional responsibility.

The temporary arrangement will remain in place for the duration specified in the order.
