Born in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur, Kanishka Narayan later moved to the United Kingdom, where he pursued his education and built a career in public service.

First Ethnic Minority MP from a Welsh Constituency
Narayan currently represents Vale of Glamorgan in Wales as a Labour Member of Parliament. He holds the distinction of being the first ethnic minority MP to represent the constituency.
Before entering frontline politics, he worked as an economist and later served as a senior adviser to Cabinet ministers and the Prime Minister in the UK’s Business Department and Cabinet Office.
