The Maharashtra Government has carried out a fresh administrative reshuffle involving 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, assigning new responsibilities across key departments, urban development agencies, industrial bodies, health institutions and district administrations.

The transfer orders, issued on June 16, 2026, include changes in leadership positions at CIDCO, MMRDA, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the National Health Mission (NHM), and several district-level postings.
Vijay Singhal Appointed OSD for Dharavi Redevelopment Project

Among the most significant appointments, senior IAS officer Vijay Singhal (1997 batch), who was serving as Vice Chairman and Managing Director (VCMD) of CIDCO, has been posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai.

The appointment places him at the centre of one of the country’s largest urban redevelopment initiatives.
Prajkta Verma Gets Key Municipal Role

IAS officer Prajkta Verma (2001 batch) has been appointed as Additional Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Her new role will involve overseeing important civic administration and urban governance functions in Mumbai.
Changes in Industries and Forest Departments
P. Velrasu (2002 batch), who was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), has been transferred and appointed Secretary (Forest) in the Revenue and Forest Department at Mantralaya.
Meanwhile, Deependra Singh Kushwah (2006 batch), who was serving as Development Commissioner (Industries), has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of MIDC.
Kadambari Balkawade (2010 batch), Commissioner (Family Welfare) and Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been posted as Development Commissioner (Industries), taking over Kushwah’s previous assignment.
MMRDA and CIDCO Get New Leadership
Dr. Ashwini Joshi (2006 batch), who was serving as Additional Municipal Commissioner of BMC, has been appointed as Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).
Ashwin Mudgal (2007 batch), previously Additional Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA, has been transferred and posted as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO.
These appointments are expected to strengthen the leadership of two key agencies responsible for Mumbai’s infrastructure and urban development.
Health Department Sees Leadership Change
Sanjay Katkar (SCS: 2014), who was serving as Managing Director of Maharashtra Information Technology Corporation, has been appointed Commissioner (Family Welfare) and Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Mumbai.
He replaces Kadambari Balkawade, who has moved to the Industries Department.
District-Level Postings for Young Officers
The reshuffle also includes important field assignments for younger IAS officers.
Zenith Chandra Donthula (2022 batch), who was serving as Project Officer, Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Kinwat and Assistant Collector, Kinwat Sub-Division in Nanded district, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Gondia.
Anay Navandar (2022 batch), earlier posted as Project Officer, ITDP Taloda and Assistant Collector, Taloda Sub-Division in Nandurbar district, has been transferred as Chief Executive Officer, Zilla Parishad, Akola.
New Assignments in Tribal Development Administration
Dr. B. Saravanan (2023 batch), who was serving as Assistant Collector, Bhokardan Sub-Division in Jalna district, has been posted as Project Officer, ITDP Kinwat and Assistant Collector, Kinwat Sub-Division, Nanded.
Similarly, Laghima Tiwari (2023 batch), previously Assistant Collector, Gondpipri Sub-Division in Chandrapur district, has been appointed Project Officer, ITDP Taloda and Assistant Collector, Taloda Sub-Division, Nandurbar.
Government Focus on Administrative Efficiency
Officials indicated that the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening governance, improving project implementation and ensuring effective administrative leadership across strategic departments and development agencies.

The transfers cover critical sectors including urban infrastructure, industrial development, healthcare, tribal welfare and district administration.
