In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Rajasthan government has transferred several IAS officers, aiming to strengthen governance and bring fresh momentum across key departments and districts.
Among the prominent changes, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni (2010 batch), who was serving as Collector & District Magistrate of Jaipur, has been appointed as Secretary to the Chief Minister along with the additional charge of the Information & Public Relations Department. His move to the Chief Minister’s Office reflects trust in his administrative experience and people-centric approach.
At the senior level, Dr. Joga Ram (2005 batch) has been appointed as Secretary and Commissioner, Panchayati Raj, with additional charge as Mission Director of the National Health Mission. Meanwhile, Shri Rajan Vishal (2008 batch) has been given charge as Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission, a crucial role in strengthening water infrastructure.
In another key change, Shri Kanhaiya Lal Swami (2010 batch) has been appointed as Divisional Commissioner, Jodhpur, while Shri Nakate Shivprasad Madan (2011 batch) has been posted as Managing Director of Rajasthan Urja Vikas and IT Services Limited, Jaipur—highlighting the government’s focus on energy and infrastructure sectors.
Several officers have also been given important field and departmental roles. Shri Sandesh Nayak (2011 batch) has been appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Jaipur. Smt Shivangi Swarnkar (2011 batch) moves to the Finance (Budget) Department as Special Secretary along with an additional role in financial training. Smt Anupama Jorwal (2011 batch) has been posted as Collector & District Magistrate, Jaisalmer.
In urban governance and administration, Shri Om Prakash Kasera (2012 batch) has been appointed as Commissioner, Jaipur Municipal Corporation and CEO of Jaipur Smart City Limited. Shri Namit Mehta (2012 batch) takes charge as Commissioner, Excise Department, Udaipur, while Smt Namrata Vrishni (2013 batch) has been moved to the Mines & Petroleum Department as Special Secretary.
Further district-level changes include Shri Alok Ranjan (2013 batch), who has been appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Jodhpur, and Shri Arvind Kumar Poswal (2013 batch), who will now serve as Commissioner of the Rajasthan Housing Board, Jaipur.
This reshuffle reflects a broader administrative strategy—placing experienced officers in key policy roles while ensuring dynamic leadership at the district level. For citizens, such changes often translate into improved service delivery, faster decision-making, and better implementation of government schemes.
As Rajasthan moves forward with this new administrative lineup, the focus remains clear: responsive governance, stronger coordination, and development that reaches people at every level.
