The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, posting 21 senior IAS officers following their promotion. The changes, notified late Thursday night, include appointments and transfers at the levels of Secretary, Special Secretary, Director and other senior positions across key departments.
The reshuffle was ordered by Principal Secretary M. Devraj, with all officers directed to assume charge with immediate effect. Officials said the exercise is aimed at improving administrative efficiency, streamlining decision-making and strengthening coordination across departments. Eight women IAS officers are part of the reshuffle.
Promotions to Secretary Rank
Several officers have been elevated from Special Secretary to Secretary rank and assigned expanded responsibilities in revenue, finance, urban development, irrigation, education and social welfare departments.

- Akhand Pratap Singh appointed Secretary, Election Department, and Additional Chief Electoral Officer.
Earlier: Special Secretary, Election Department. - Neha Sharma appointed Inspector General of Registration.
Earlier: In-charge Inspector General (Stamp and Registration). - Monica Rani appointed Director General, School Education.
Earlier: In-charge Director General, School Education. - Yogesh Kumar appointed Commissioner and Registrar, Cooperative Societies.

Revenue and Medical Education
- Aparna U appointed Principal Secretary, Revenue Department.
Earlier: Secretary, Medical Education and Director General, Medical Education. - Dr Sarika Mohan appointed Secretary, Medical Education and Director General, Medical Education.

Other Senior-Level Changes
- SVS Ranga Rao appointed Principal Secretary, Reorganisation Coordination, National Integration and General Administration.
- Naveen Kumar GS appointed Member (Judicial), Revenue Council.

- Bhawani Singh Khangarot appointed Secretary, Finance Department.
- Ravindra Kumar-I appointed Secretary, Urban Development; State Mission Director, AMRUT; and Managing Director, UP Jal Nigam Urban.
- Divya Prakash Giri appointed Secretary, Public Works Department.
Irrigation and Water Resources
- Krishna Kumar appointed Secretary, Irrigation and Water Resources, and CEO, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
Women, Social and Backward Classes Welfare
- Sudha Verma appointed Secretary, Revenue Department.
- Renu Tiwari appointed Special Secretary, Women’s Welfare, and Secretary, State Women’s Commission.
- Sanjeev Singh appointed Director, Social Welfare, and Managing Director, UP SIDCO.
- Dr Vandana Verma appointed Director, Women’s Welfare, and Managing Director, Women’s Welfare Corporation.
Home and Finance
- Kumar Prashant appointed Secretary, Home Department.
- Sandeep Kaur appointed Secretary, Finance Department.
Officials said the reshuffle under the Yogi Adityanath government is intended to improve policy implementation, strengthen inter-departmental coordination and enhance service delivery across the state administration.
