The redeveloped stations in Uttar Pradesh include Govindpuri (Kanpur), Balrampur, Bareilly City, Bijnor, Fatehabad, Gola Gokarnanath, Govardhan, Hathras City, Idgah Agra, Izzatnagar, Karchana, Mailani, Pukhrayan, Ramghat Halt, Saharanpur, Siddharthnagar, Suremanpur, Swaminarayan Chhapia, and Ujhani. These upgraded stations are designed to provide enhanced passenger experience with state-of-the-art amenities and improved infrastructure.

CM Yogi Adityanath, expressing gratitude on X, said, “All 103 Amrit Stations across India, including 19 in Uttar Pradesh, dedicated today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, embody New India’s blend of heritage preservation, development resolve, and the synergy of speed and pride.”

Calling the Amrit Bharat stations an innovative step towards realising the vision of New India, the Chief Minister highlighted that these redeveloped stations will not only offer modern amenities but also promote local culture, expand tourism, and enhance regional connectivity.

The stations now feature modern waiting areas, escalators, lifts, facilities for the differently-abled, green energy-based infrastructure, and architectural elements reflecting regional heritage. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to redevelop more than 1,300 stations across India. So far, 103 stations in 86 districts across 18 states and Union Territories have been redeveloped at an investment exceeding ₹1,100 crore. The government’s commitment to infrastructure is evident in the laying of 34,000 km of new rail lines and the electrification of 47,000 km over the last 11 years. Additionally, older ICF coaches are being replaced by modern LHB coaches, and new-age trains like Vande Bharat and Namo Bharat are reshaping rail travel.

For the first time since independence, small and medium stations are receiving focused attention. In FY 2023-24, the foundation for 1,062 station redevelopments was laid, with over 100 more to be completed in the next 8 months, and 500 by 2027.
