The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Shakti Dubey has secured the prestigious All India Rank 1, followed by Harshita Goyal at Rank 2 and Dongre Archit Parag at Rank 3.

The examination, conducted on June 16, 2024, saw participation from a staggering 5,83,213 candidates. Of these, 14,627 qualified for the Written (Main) Examination held in September 2024. Subsequently, 2,845 candidates were shortlisted for the Personality Test round.

In the final recommendation, a total of 1,009 candidates — comprising 725 men and 284 women — have been declared successful and recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and various Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).

Among the top five rank holders, three are women — a strong indicator of growing gender representation in the country’s top civil services.

Shakti Dubey, who secured the first position, is a B.Sc. Biochemistry graduate from the University of Allahabad. Her optional subject was Political Science and International Relations.

Second-rank holder Harshita Goyal, a B.Com graduate from MS University of Baroda, also chose Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject.

Dongre Archit Parag, ranked third, is an electronics engineering graduate from VIT, Vellore, and opted for Philosophy as his optional subject.

Engineering graduates also featured prominently in the top five, with Shah Margi Chirag and Akash Garg securing the fourth and fifth ranks, respectively.

The list of recommended candidates also includes 45 Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 12 Orthopedically Handicapped, eight Visually Challenged, 16 Hearing Impaired, and nine with Multiple Disabilities.
