In a major administrative shake-up, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday transferred 16 IAS officers, including six District Magistrates (DMs), as part of a wider move aimed at streamlining governance and enhancing administrative efficiency across the state.

Among the most prominent changes is the transfer of Ayodhya DM and 2012 batch IAS officer Chandra Vijay Singh, who has now been appointed as Special Secretary, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department.

Taking over from him, 2014 batch IAS officer Nikhil Tikaram Funde, previously DM of Chandauli, has been posted as the new DM of Ayodhya. Meanwhile, 2016-batch IAS officer Chandra Mohan Garg, earlier serving as Municipal Commissioner, Prayagraj, will now serve as DM of Chandauli.

In turn, 2018 batch IAS officer Seelam Sai Teja, who was CDO Jaunpur, has been made Municipal Commissioner, Prayagraj. The 2021-batch IAS officer Mrinali Avinash Joshi, who was Joint Magistrate, Gorakhpur, has been appointed as the new CDO of Jaunpur.

2015 batch IAS officer Nisha, currently DM of Amethi, will now head the National AYUSH Mission as its Mission Director. Replacing her, 2014 batch IAS officer Sanjay Chauhan, currently Municipal Commissioner, Saharanpur, will take charge as DM of Amethi.

2017 batch IAS officer S. Giri, earlier Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department, will become the new Municipal Commissioner of Saharanpur. He replaces Sanjay Chauhan.

Additionally, 2012-batch IAS officer Mahendra Verma, previously Mission Director of the National AYUSH Mission, has been appointed Secretary, Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UPRERA).

2014 batch IAS officer Avanish Kumar Rai, earlier DM of Etawah, has been posted as DM of Badaun. 2013 batch promotee IAS officer Shubhrant Kumar Shukla, who was DM of Kannauj, has been made DM of Etawah. Meanwhile, Ashutosh Mohan Agnihotri, a 2016 batch promotee IAS officer and Special Secretary to the Chief Minister, will now serve as DM of Kannauj.

Nidhi Srivastava, 2014 batch promotee IAS officer and former DM of Badaun, has been appointed as Special Secretary, Higher Education Department.

Other Key Transfers

Beyond district appointments, several officers have been reassigned to crucial departmental roles.

The 2018-batch IAS officer Sandeep Bhagia, formerly CDO of Muzaffarnagar, has been appointed Additional Commissioner, State Tax, Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The 2021-batch IAS officer Kandarkar Kamalkishor (KKK) Deshbhushan, Joint Magistrate, Meerut, will now serve as CDO of Muzaffarnagar.

Meanwhile, 2014 batch promotee IAS officer Raj Kumar I, who was previously on the waiting list, has been appointed Special Secretary, Energy Department.
