In a sweeping reshuffle aimed at enhancing governance and bolstering law enforcement, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has transferred 15 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including 9 District Superintendents of Police (SPs) and officers in specialised roles. The move is designed to strengthen policing, streamline administrative efficiency, and ensure improved security across the state.

Key Transfers and Appointments:

  • Ajay Pal Sharma (2011 batch) has been appointed as the in-charge Additional Police Commissioner for the Prayagraj Commissionerate, a pivotal role focusing on reinforcing security and enhancing policing in a key region of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Kaustubh (2015 batch) takes charge as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Jaunpur, while Keshav Kumar assumes the position of SP, Ambedkar Nagar.
  • Aparna Rajat Kaushik (2015 batch) has been named the SP of Amethi, and Ankita Sharma will now serve as SP of Kasganj.
  • Anup Kumar Singh (2014 batch) has been appointed Commandant of the 35th Battalion, Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), Lucknow, a role crucial for strengthening the PAC’s operational capabilities.
  • Vikrant Veer (2014 batch) takes over as SP, Deoria, while Omveer Singh has been posted as SP, Ballia, to address law and order priorities.
  • Ramnayan Singh is the new SP of Bahraich, and Chiranjeev Nath Singh will lead as SP, Hathras.
  • Prachi Singh has been appointed Commandant of the 32nd Battalion, PAC, Lucknow, overseeing key security measures.
  • Abhishek Mahajan assumes the role of SP, Siddharthnagar, and Sankalp Sharma takes charge as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in the Lucknow Commissionerate.
  • Vrinda Shukla has been assigned as SP for UP 1090 Women’s Helpline, a critical service for women in distress.
  • Nipun Agarwal has been transferred as DCP in the Lucknow Police Commissionerate, enhancing leadership in the state capital’s law enforcement.
