The Madhya Pradesh government is set to strengthen Bhopal’s industrial landscape with the development of the Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Smart Industrial Park. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will perform the bhoomi pujan and lay the foundation stone for the project on Monday at Satgarhi in Bhopal, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

The event is expected to witness the participation of nearly 200 industrialists, investors, and representatives of industry associations, highlighting the state’s continued focus on attracting investments and promoting industrial growth.

173-Acre Smart Industrial Park Planned

Spread across approximately 173 acres, the proposed Smart Industrial Park is designed to provide world-class infrastructure for industries and emerging businesses.

The park will feature modern roads, IT-enabled infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based facilities, logistics support, warehouses, and advanced industrial utilities, creating a business-friendly environment for investors.

The project is expected to position Bhopal as an important destination for manufacturing, technology, and innovation-driven industries.

Over 15,000 Employment Opportunities Expected

According to the state government, the project is expected to generate more than 15,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The industrial park will accommodate industries from sectors such as:

• High-value manufacturing
• Garments and textiles
• Toys
• Information Technology (IT)
• Artificial Intelligence (AI)
• Logistics and warehousing
• Emerging technology-based industries

The initiative is expected to create new employment opportunities for youth while strengthening the local economy.

World-Class Convention and Exhibition Centre Planned

A major highlight of the project is the development of a world-class Convention and Exhibition Centre over 25 acres.

The facility will have the capacity to accommodate more than 10,000 people at a time and is expected to host national and international investment summits, industrial exhibitions, business conferences, and trade events.

The centre is expected to enhance Bhopal’s position as a destination for business and investment-related events.

Kolar Region Set for Major Transformation

The project is also expected to transform the Kolar region, which has traditionally been known as a residential area.

With the establishment of the Smart Industrial Park, the area is expected to witness increased industrial activity, new investments, infrastructure development, and employment generation, giving a significant boost to the region’s overall economic growth.
