Uttar Pradesh Pushes to Become ‘Deep Tech Capital’ with Focus on AI & Drones

Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a “Deep Tech Capital,” with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighting artificial intelligence and drone technology as key focus areas.

Speaking on National Technology Day, he emphasised the growing role of technology in governance, industrial development, and self-reliance. He noted that digital initiatives such as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and online public services have strengthened transparency and efficiency in governance.

The state is promoting sectors including AI, robotics, drone technology, cybersecurity, green hydrogen, and med-tech to build a strong deep-tech ecosystem. Efforts are also underway to develop data centres and enhance collaboration between industry and research institutions.

Uttar Pradesh is focusing on skill development by integrating emerging technologies into education and training programmes. Initiatives include training in AI, IoT, robotics, and drone operations to prepare a future-ready workforce.

The government is also encouraging startups and innovation through incubation support and industry partnerships, while developing cities like Noida, Lucknow, and Kanpur as technology hubs.

With an emphasis on digital infrastructure and technology-driven governance, the state aims to boost investment, generate employment, and strengthen its role in India’s tech-led growth.
