The Tamil Nadu government has appointed two senior IAS officers to key positions in the Secretariat of newly sworn-in Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay as the new administration begins setting up its core governance team.

According to official orders, Dr P Senthilkumar, a 1995-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary and Secretary-I to the Chief Minister.
At the same time, G Laxmi Priya, a 2006-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Secretary-II to the Chief Minister.
The appointments are being seen as an important step in strengthening the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and ensuring smooth coordination across departments under the new government.

Dr P Senthilkumar is a senior bureaucrat with extensive administrative experience across multiple departments in the Tamil Nadu government, while G Laxmi Priya has handled several important administrative assignments during her career.
Officials said the appointments are aimed at supporting policy coordination, administrative decision-making and governance implementation as the new government begins its tenure.

The formation of the Chief Minister’s core administrative team comes shortly after C Joseph Vijay took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, marking the beginning of a new political and administrative phase in the state.
