The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the assignment of additional charge of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NITI Aayog, to Nidhi Chhibber, IAS (CG:1994). She is currently serving as Director General, Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office, NITI Aayog.
The arrangement has come into effect from 24th February 2026, following the completion of tenure of B. V. R. Subrahmanyam, IAS (CG:1987) (Retd.).
Interim Responsibility Until Regular Appointment
According to the official order, Ms. Chhibber will hold the additional charge until a regular CEO is appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The decision ensures continuity in leadership at the government’s premier policy institution during the transition period.

The notification was issued by Ms. Manisha Saxena, Secretary, Appointments Committee of the Cabinet & Establishment Officer, and circulated to senior authorities, including the Cabinet Secretary, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Secretaries to the President and Vice President, Chief Secretaries of all states, and other key officials of the Government of India.
