Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday laid the foundation for a major sewerage infrastructure project, worth ₹30 crore, in the Sudama Nagar D & E sectors of Indore under the AMRUT 2.0 initiative. The project covers the construction of a 34.235-kilometre sewer line aimed at permanently reducing drainage blockages and enhancing wastewater management for residents in the area.

Speaking at the event held at the Blue Lotus Garden, the CM emphasised the government’s commitment to inclusive development, stating that the project aligns with his administration’s vision of “Antyodaya”, ensuring welfare and development reach every citizen.

He highlighted that Diwali provided an auspicious moment for launching public-utility projects that directly benefit communities. In addition to the sewage works, the event also featured a social harmony conference with an agenda focusing on the empowerment of marginalised groups.

Yadav pointed to a broader record of the state government’s social and economic progress, noting that the state budget had expanded significantly and that programmes targeting farmers, tribal communities, and urban infrastructure were accelerating.

Local elected representatives and officials,  including MLA Malini Gaud, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and others, praised the project’s potential to improve urban sanitation, reduce health risks associated with blocked drainage, and support Indore’s emergence as a model metropolitan region in the 2047 vision.
