Uttar Pradesh Announces ₹125 Crore Investment in Flatted Factory for MSMEs in Greater Noida

Greater Noida, June 9, 2025: In a significant push to promote industrial development and generate employment, the Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced the construction of a flatted factory in Greater Noida with a proposed investment of ₹125 crore. The initiative is designed to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly by offering state-of-the-art industrial infrastructure within a compact, multi-storey format.

According to an official statement, the upcoming facility will span over 38,665 square metres and will be located in Sector 28 of Greater Noida in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. The project will be executed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), which has already commenced preparatory activities, including finalisation of the master plan and related documentation. The construction is expected to be completed within a two-year timeframe.

A flatted factory is a multi-storey industrial building designed to accommodate multiple independent manufacturing units. Each unit operates autonomously for functions such as production, assembly, and storage. These structures are especially advantageous for MSMEs that require functional industrial spaces in high-demand urban zones where land availability is constrained.

The new facility will be equipped with essential infrastructure, including power and water supply, elevators, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, and advanced fire safety measures. Such features aim to provide a plug-and-play industrial environment that facilitates rapid operational setup for businesses.

This project is a part of the state government’s broader industrial development strategy, which envisions positioning Uttar Pradesh as a major economic hub. The state aims to achieve a ₹1 lakh crore economy by actively supporting MSMEs alongside large-scale industries.

“The flatted factory model presents an efficient solution for industrial expansion in areas where horizontal space is limited. It will attract new investments, support start-ups, and contribute to regional employment, especially among the youth,” the statement said.

Officials believe that the facility will not only offer modernised workspaces but also catalyse regional economic activity. By enhancing the ease of doing business, it is expected to draw fresh investment into the state and further the goal of inclusive industrial growth.

This initiative underscores the state’s commitment to building a robust MSME ecosystem, which is seen as a critical engine for job creation and economic resilience. Once operational, the flatted factory is expected to be a game-changer in the region’s industrial landscape.
