
In a significant administrative shake-up, the Rajasthan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, carried out a much-anticipated bureaucratic reshuffle late Sunday night, transferring 62 IAS officers, including 11 District Collectors. This high-level restructuring signals a generational shift in top administrative roles and affects several critical departments across the state.
Key Changes at the Top
Akhil Arora, who held the finance portfolio since the previous Congress regime, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED). Vaibhav Galriya, who previously led Urban Development and Housing (UDH), replaces Arora as Principal Secretary, Finance, Excise & Taxation. Anand Kumar, earlier ACS (Home), now takes charge as ACS, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, with Bhaskar A. Sawant stepping into the Home department from PHED. Aparna Arora has been moved from Forest and Environment to ACS, Social Justice & Empowerment.

CM’s Team & Key Secretariats Witness Key Moves
Ajitabh Sharma, known for spearheading industrial promotion including the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit, has been posted as Principal Secretary, Energy. Alok Gupta, Principal Secretary to CM, has been given additional charge of Industries and MSME. Shikhar Agrawal, ACS to CM, has received additional charge of RIICO.

Urban Administration & District Leadership Reassigned
Debashish Prusty is the new Principal Secretary, Urban Development and Housing (UDH). Rukmini Riyar, currently JMC-Greater Commissioner, becomes Commissioner, Tourism, while Gaurav Saini steps in as her replacement at JMC-Greater. Arun Hasija, Commissioner, JMC-Heritage, has been posted as District Collector, Rajsamand. Nidhi Patel (2018 batch), previously awaiting posting, has been appointed Commissioner, JMC-Heritage and CEO, Jaipur Smart City.
Other Significant Transfers
Sandeep Verma, CMD, Rajasthan State Warehousing Corporation, is now ACS, Skills, Entrepreneurship & Employment. Kuldeep Ranka, former Principal Secretary to the CM, has been shifted to Higher and Technical Education. Subodh Agarwal (1988 batch), the senior-most IAS officer in Rajasthan, assumes charge as Chairman & MD, Rajasthan Financial Corporation. Kunji Lal Meena, former Chairman, Indira Gandhi Nahar Board, has been appointed ACS, Tribal Area Development. Rajesh Yadav, earlier Principal Secretary, LSG, will now lead the Department of Tourism, Art, Literature & Culture.
