
The Government of Gujarat has appointed a 2005 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Gujarat cadre, Dr Vikrant Pandey, as Secretary to the Chief Minister. Dr Pandey, who is currently serving as the Resident Commissioner of the Gujarat government in New Delhi, will now join the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in his new capacity.
In a concurrent administrative development, 2003 batch IAS officer Avantika Singh Aulakh has been promoted from her role as Secretary to Chief Minister to the position of Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister. Aulakh has been associated with the Chief Minister’s Office since Shri Bhupendra Patel assumed charge as Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Dr Vikrant Pandey, a senior bureaucrat with notable administrative experience, previously served as Resident Commissioner, Gujarat Bhawan, New Delhi, after his promotion to the Super Time Scale and repatriation to the state cadre. His prior assignments also include a posting as Director in the Inter-State Council Secretariat under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
