The Madhya Pradesh government has reassigned three senior IAS officers to new key positions, aimed at enhancing governance and addressing pending vacancies. Dhananjay Singh Bhadoria, a 2006-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Jabalpur. The position had remained vacant since April 30 following the retirement of Abhay Kumar Verma. Bhadoria previously held the dual roles of Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department and Managing Director of the State Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation. His appointment came shortly after Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s visit to Jabalpur, signalling the urgency to fill the post.
In another strategic move, Sanket S. Bhondve, a 2007-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of the Urban Administration and Development Department. Bhondve returns to the state cadre after completing his central deputation in Delhi. His appointment allows Chief Minister’s Secretary Sibi Chakraborty to relinquish this additional charge, although Chakraborty will continue to oversee the Building Development Corporation.

Additionally, Meenakshi Singh, currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, has been given additional charge as Commissioner of the Scheduled Caste Development Department, succeeding Bhadoria.
This administrative overhaul is seen as a timely intervention amidst rising concerns over governance delays, especially in Jabalpur where the commissioner’s post had been unoccupied for over a week. The reshuffle reflects the government’s intent to streamline decision-making and strengthen departmental leadership across key sectors including urban development, welfare programs, and regional administration.
