In a significant step towards promoting financial literacy and safeguarding investor interests, the Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), operating under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, has formalised a strategic partnership with Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited (KMBL). A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two institutions with the objective of expanding the reach of investor education initiatives across the nation through digital means.

Under this partnership, IEPFA’s curated content related to investor awareness will be disseminated through Kotak Mahindra Bank’s expansive digital and physical platforms. These include ATMs, self-service kiosks, websites, mobile applications, and various social media channels. Materials such as digital banners, educational videos, and short films produced by IEPFA will be displayed, aiming to educate the public on responsible investment practices, the prevention of financial fraud, and the protection of investor rights.

This initiative is scheduled for rollout during the financial year 2025-2026 and notably does not entail any financial burden on IEPFA. By utilising Kotak Mahindra Bank’s wide-reaching network of over 2,000 branches and more than 3,000 ATMs across India, the collaboration is expected to deliver impactful investor education to a broad and diverse demographic.

The MoU was formally exchanged by Smt. Samiksha Lamba, Deputy General Manager at IEPFA, and Mr. Vishal Agarwal, Senior Vice President and Head at Kotak Mahindra Bank, in the presence of Smt. Anita Shah Akella, CEO of IEPFA and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Speaking on the occasion, officials emphasized that the partnership not only enhances the outreach capabilities of IEPFA but also reinforces public trust in the financial system by equipping investors with essential knowledge.
