The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has partnered with Bengaluru-based artificial intelligence (AI) firm Sarvam AI to introduce AI-driven voice-based interactions aimed at enhancing Aadhaar services. This initiative, set to launch on March 18, seeks to improve the user experience through real-time feedback mechanisms and strengthened security measures.
As part of this collaboration, UIDAI will deploy Sarvam AI’s advanced voice-based AI solution to facilitate seamless interactions for Aadhaar users. The system will allow individuals to provide real-time feedback regarding their Aadhaar enrollment and update experiences. Additionally, it will help detect instances of overcharging by service providers, ensuring transparency and accountability in the process.
One of the key highlights of this partnership is its focus on real-time fraud detection. The AI-powered system will monitor authentication requests and issue instant alerts to Aadhaar holders in case of suspicious activities. This proactive approach aims to enhance security and protect users from potential fraudulent transactions.

Recognizing India’s linguistic diversity, UIDAI and Sarvam AI have ensured that the AI solution will support interactions in ten regional languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Marathi. The initiative also plans to expand language support further in the future, ensuring wider accessibility for Aadhaar holders across the country.

To safeguard user data and ensure compliance with security regulations, the AI system will be hosted on-premise within UIDAI’s air-gapped infrastructure. This measure guarantees that no data will leave the secure environment, reinforcing UIDAI’s commitment to data privacy and security.

The partnership between UIDAI and Sarvam AI is initially set for one year, with the possibility of an extension. This initiative is part of UIDAI’s broader strategy to integrate cutting-edge technology into Aadhaar services, ensuring efficiency, security, and user convenience.
By leveraging AI-powered voice interactions and real-time fraud detection, UIDAI is taking a proactive approach to enhance Aadhaar services, reaffirming its commitment to technological innovation and user-centric solutions.
