In a major push for India’s drone industry, Garuda Aerospace CEO Agnishwar Jayaprakash met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to fast-track the development of Andhra Pradesh Drone City in Kurnool. The company reaffirmed its ₹100 crore investment, strategically focusing on land allocation near ports and airports to attract global aerospace firms and boost exports. With strong backing from the state government, the initiative aims to streamline approvals, build cutting-edge infrastructure, and provide essential amenities, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leading hub for drone innovation and manufacturing.
The Drone City is expected to become a world-class center for drone technology, generating 20,000 jobs while training 25,000 drone pilots. With India’s drone market projected to grow 2.5 times to ₹60 billion by 2030, the initiative will create a robust ecosystem encompassing drone manufacturing, R&D, a training academy, maintenance facilities, and an incubation hub for UAV startups. Civil Aviation Minister Rama Mohan Naidu also discussed the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra’ and Garuda Aerospace’s contributions to the ‘Namo Drone Didi’ initiative, which empowers rural women through drone technology.
The project aims to foster over 500 drone-related companies and attract foreign investments worth nearly $5 billion, driving exports and expanding India’s drone industry into over 15 international markets by 2030. With increasing demand across sectors like agriculture—covering 350 million acres—and industrial applications, such as solar panel cleaning and large-scale mapping, the Andhra Pradesh Drone City is set to play a crucial role in advancing India’s drone ecosystem.

Agnishwar Jayaprakash stated, “The Andhra Pradesh Drone City is more than just an infrastructure project; it is a catalyst for innovation, job creation, and technological leadership. By fostering a dynamic ecosystem for drone research, manufacturing, and training, we aim to position India as a global powerhouse in drone technology.”
