REC bags Golden Peacock Award 2024 for Excellence in Corporate Governance

REC Limited, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) under the Ministry of Power and a leading non-banking financial company (NBFC), has been conferred with the prestigious Golden Peacock Award 2024 for Excellence in Corporate Governance. The accolade was presented by the Golden Peacock Awards Secretariat and the Institute of Directors during a grand ceremony in London.


This award highlights REC’s steadfast commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices, cementing its reputation for adhering to the highest corporate governance standards. The recognition places REC as a distinguished leader in the Power (Financial Services) category, underscoring its pivotal role in driving excellence in governance across the industry.

Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of REC, expressed gratitude upon receiving the award, stating, “This honour reflects REC’s continuous efforts to uphold the principles of good governance and our dedication to creating long-term value for our stakeholders. We are deeply grateful for this recognition.”

The winners of the Golden Peacock Awards were selected by a jury chaired by Justice MN Venkatachaliah, the 25th Chief Justice of India, along with notable members including Justice UU Lalit, former Chief Justice of India, and Prof. (Judge) Mervyn E. King SC, among others.
